| GOIANIA, Brazil – Police on Tuesday, announced the arrests of three suspects in the slaying of soccer fan Pamella Munike, 17, on November 6th, in the town of Maua. The teenager was shot in the head while returning from a party after a match between the teams Goias Sports Club and Vila Nova.

Two of the young men arrested by the Civil Police (PC) are members of the Vila Nova fan club, Colorado Blood. A third young man was arrested last Friday for illegal possession of a firearm which turned out to the murder weapon.

According to the police spokesman, Kleber Leandro Toledo Rodrigues, the police knew who the perpetrators were from the day of the incident, but only after the month-long investigation were they able to obtain arrest warrants for the two Vila Nova fans.
The first suspect, who claims innocence, was arrested on November 17th. The second suspect, who is believed to be the shooter, was arrested on November 21st. The police spokesman said that the boy identified as the gunman confessed to the crime and said that the other suspect was not involved.

“Nevertheless, Pamella's boyfriend and her cousin—who were both walking with her when she was shot—are vehement that the first suspect, who claims innocence, was involved. We requested an extension of the detention of the two main suspects for 30 days so that we may learn for sure weather this first suspect was involved in the crime,” the spokesman told TV Anhanguera.
The spokesman also said that “The crime was motivated by disagreements among members of the fan clubs for Goias and Vila Nova. The differences intensified after the death of Vila Nova fan Lucas Arantes de Moraes, 17, on June 25th, 2011. Vila Nova fans thought that Pamella's boyfriend was involved in that crime and that is what motivated her killing. It was an error in execution that Pamella got whacked, it was supposed to be her boyfriend,” he told TV Anhanguera.
