Drugs hidden in automobile
CURITIBA, Parana – A couple was arrested transporting 58 kilograms of crack cocaine in the early hours of Tuesday, near the town of Cascavel in western Parana. According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the drugs were hidden in the backseat of the car that was traveling towards the capital on highway BR-227.
Under police interrogation, the couple admitted that they picked up the drugs in Iguassu Falls, also in western Parana, and were transporting them to the state capital, Curitiba.
So far this year, the PRF have seized over a ton of crack cocaine across the state of Parana. In 2010 they seized 546 kilos of the drug.
