She says she only meant to poke him with the knife “but it went in deep”
VITORIA, Espirito Santo – A woman killed her husband with a thrust of a carving knife after catching him red-handed in the company of his mistress, in the Jardim Tropical neighborhood of metropolitan Vitoria, on Thursday, reported the G1 network.
The woman, Solange de Oliveira, in an interview with the G1 network, admitted the crime, saying that she took offense that her husband had intimate relations with other women. Solange said that she caught her husband and his lover in the street and beat them both up.
When she got home, the betrayed wife said she attempted to burn his clothing. The crime happened when he tried to stop her. “When he got up to retrieve the clothes that I was going to burn, I went after him with a knife. I thought I'd just stick him a bit, to teach him a lesson, but it went in deep,” confessed the wife.
Even after the murder, Solange showed no repentance and she claims not to understand why she had been betrayed. “He was dishonest with me. He was cheating on me, he was with other women—why? Whatever they have, I have,” she says.
Solange was taken to the woman's prison Xuri, in Vila Velha. Although she will be charged with murder, those convicted of crimes of passion, especially a betrayed spouse, are entitled to mercy in Brazil.
