SAO PAULO, Brazil - A 31-year-old architect was shot five times while riding a motorcycle Saturday afternoon on the Marginal Tiete, a main highway that runs through the center this bustling city of 20 million people, reports terra.com.br.
According to police, the victim was shot near the bridge of Remedios. He was rescued by Military Police and evacuated in their helicopter, known as “Eagle PM” and taken to hospital at around 2 pm. His condition is unknown.
The police think that the shooters were trying to take the architect's motorcycle, a Yamaha R1. The assailants fled and there are no reports of them having been apprehended. The case has been refered to the 91st Police District office.
On September 3rd an architect was shot dead in a botched robbery attempt in the Ipanema neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro.
