| SAO PAULO – An ATM machine was found on a street in Santos, São Paulo late Tuesday night. The equipment was found shortly after 10 pm by a group celebrating a birthday at a nearby club, reports O Globo online.
Witnesses said that they heard a loud noise, like a car backfiring, so they went outside to investigate where they found the ATM laying in the street in pieces. The machine had blast marks and the internal safe had been emptied.
Police, who didn't know how much money had been taken, believe that the robbery is related to a similar incident carried out by five men at a gas station also in Santos.
