Debora Lyra Released From ICU

| VITORIA, Brazil - Model Deborah Moura Lyra, 22, Miss Brazil 2010, was transferred from ICU to the inpatient unit of the Center for Integrated Health Care (CIAS) in Vitoria, capital of Espirito Santo, earlier on Monday. According to a medical bulletin, Lyra has "evolved in stable condition, satisfactory for recovery from the type of trauma she suffered."

Lyra still requires respiratory and motor rehabilitation through physical therapy. The hospital reported that she is now eating better, and on Tuesday, doctors were able to remove the chest drain. Miss Brazil 2010 was seriously injured after a car accident that occurred last Tuesday, the BR-101 in Guarapari.

While in the intensive care unit on December 28th, she underwent a successful surgery for cervical spinal fusion - intervention to fix the column. On the evening of Tuesday the 27th, doctors performed a laparotomy (incision in the abdominal wall), a splenectomy (spleen removed) and a chest drain.

The boyfriend of Lyra, Hermon Souza Lopes, 22, was discharged from ICU on Sunday, and was also transferred to the general hospital. He is in stable condition, according to the report. Caroline Carone, 21, friend of the model that was also in the car, was discharged last Friday.

Maria Auxiliadora Miguel de Souza, 55, mother of Hermon, died in the accident. Three people traveling in Bandeirante were also injured seriously.
