| FORTALEZA, Brazil – Federal Police (PF) on Thursday night, arrested a 31-year-old Italian man as he was about to board a flight to Europe carrying cocaine. According to the PF, the man tried to board a flight to Rome with over 2 kg (4.4 lbs) of pure cocaine in 49 bundles between his legs.
The Italian, born in Avellino, was charged with international drug trafficking. If convicted, he faces from 5 to 15 years imprisonment. He is being held by the Federal Police in Ceara.
Also according to the PF, this is the second bust in the last 48 hours in Fortaleza. On Wednesday afternoon, the Federal Police arrested two men carrying 2 kg (4.4 lbs) of cocaine and a gun.
