| RIO DE JANEIRO – Brazil was the fastest growing country in the number of Facebook users in 2011, according to data released by analyst Nick Burcher. He said the country jumped from 8.8 million users in December 2010 to 35 million in the same month of 2011, an increase of 298%.
The country is in fourth place in the number of social network users, losing to the United States, which has 157 million internet users, Indonesia, with 41.7 million, and India with 41.3 million. Next comes Brazil, Mexico 30.98 million, Turkey 30.96 million, United Kingdom 30.4 million and the Philippines with 27 million.
In total, Facebook has over 800 million users.
After Brazil, India was the fastest growing in number of users, according to the study, with an increase of 139.5%. Then came South Korea with 116% and Peru with 102.8%.
