| MANAUS, Brazil – On Monday afternoon, heavy rain in Manaus caused transportation officials to close the Rio Negro Bridge for about 40 minutes.
According to the State of Amazonas Information Communications Agency (AGECOM), the preventative measure was made due to low visibility for motorists transiting the bridge caused by the rain.
According to AGECOM, winds of 42 km/h (26 mph) did not exceed the maximum safety limit of 60 km/h (37 mph). The bridge, which was inaugurated on October 24th, last year.
