| SAO PAULO – An Englishman was arrested yesterday afternoon in Bom Retiro, Sao Paulo, on suspicion of international drug trafficking.
Police said the man, who was not identified, had a “strange attitude” when approached by police. When police searched his documents and luggage, they found 2 kilos of pure cocaine.
The suspect also had an airline ticket to South Africa, where the drug was to be taken, police said.
He was taken to the Federal Police headquarters, where he was jailed and a police report made. If convicted, he faces 5 to fifteen years imprisonment.
