| RIO DE JANEIRO – Hugh Hefner, founder of “Playboy” magazine will be guest of honor in the Devassa Beer skybox at this year's Carnaval in Rio. Despite his reputation as a connoisseur of beautiful women, this will reportedly be Hefner's first visit to Brazil.
Hefner, 85, accompanied by Playboy bunnies, will attend the two nightly parades in the skybox of beer brand Devassa in Rio's famed Marquis da Sapucai Sambadrome – a kind of linear stadium designed especially for the parades of Carnaval. The parades go on from dusk to dawn two nights running, featuring thousands of marching drummers and scantily-clad dancing women, accompanied by gigantic thematic floats.
The American millionaire, famous for his hedonistic lifestyle and many youthful girlfriends, will be the first man to be the guest of honor in the brewery's skybox. In 2010, American socialite Paris Hilton was the special guest and in 2011, the Brazilian singer Sandy.
“Hef is the man who has the keenest 'devassa' (Brazilian slang for 'party girl') sense on the planet,” said Augusto Neto, a partner at the advertising agency responsible for the brand.
It won't be all play, for the octogenarian playboy, one of Hef's duties as Devassa's guest of honor will be selecting the next poster girl for the beer brand. Who will it be? Camila? Julia? Sunessis? Or Juliana? Nice gig - if you can get it!
A host of Brazilian celebrities and, possibly, American singer Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas (no stranger to Brazil), will be present in the skybox to party with Hef and the bunnies. A great time is guaranteed to all who attend.
