| RIO DE JANEIRO – A manhole exploded early Sunday afternoon behind the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. The explosion occurred on Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, the street immediatly behind the five-star hotel.

After the explosion, at around 12 pm, flames poured out of the manhole. Local residents called the fire department. There were no reported injuries
