| GOIANIA, Brazil – Part of an ethanol plant caught fire Tuesday afternoon in the municipality of Rio Verde, 232 km (144 mi) from Goiania. According to the Fire Department, the fire started in a cooling tower at the plant, which is located of the BR-060 highway.
The firefighters and employees of the company were able to control the flames with the aide of a fire truck. Firefighters say no one was injured during the fire.
A viewer of TV Anhaguera, who was in the area of the ethanol plant, was able to capture images and upload them to the TV station's “You Report” website. The station then broadcast the images.
