Woman Was Kidnapped Eight Days Earlier
SAO PAULO, Brazil – Police rescued a kidnap victim on Sunday after a passer-by reported finding an SOS message written on a piece of toilet paper. The victim wrote the message then threw the paper out of the space where she was being held captive hoping somebody would find it and turn it into police, reported O Globo online.
The woman wrote the note on Saturday night. In it, she said that she was kidnapped eight days ago and asked for those who find the note to make an anonymous tip to police. She also wrote that she had a son and he was very afraid. The woman said she did not know where she was.
On Sunday, the SOS was turned into police, who found the building where the woman was. She was being held captive in the back of a house in the Jardim Lourdes, in the East Zone of Sao Paulo. A 39-year-old man was arrested at the scene and a gun was seized.
The woman, aged 30, was abducted as she left a house in the Limao neighborhood in the Northern Zone of Sao Paulo. Police are investigating who was involved in the crime.
