| RIO DE JANEIRO – The American actress Megan Fox and former boxer Mike Tyson star in a new TV ad campaign in Brazil, using humor to encourage the study of English. The ad shows two young men who crash land on an island populated by Megan Fox clones.
Brazil, like the United States, is a notoriously mono-lingual society. Most people are able to communicate only in Portuguese – and that poses a problem: in a country which will host the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016, more people need to learn English.
The language school chain CCAA is doing its part with a new ad campaign. So, what happens to the two teenage men who can't communicate with the Megan clones? They are banished to Mike Tyson island.
The ad was filmed in Oxnard, California in September and debuted on Brazilian TV this week. Since being uploaded to YouTube, it has been viewed over 200,000 times.
