In total, police confiscated 15 kilos of marijuana, tightly packed into bricks, about U.S. $10,000 in cash, an electronic scale as well as packaging material. Police seized part of the drugs, about 10 kilos, in a house which police believe she used only for storage. Investigators found the rest on a farm located between Agua Limpa and Morrinhos which belonged to the accused.

The woman comes from one of the oldest families in the city. Agents of the Special Narcotics Repression Unit (GENARC) opened an investigation after receiving a tip. The investigation lasted about 30 days. Granny Smoke is reportedly the lover of a serious drug trafficker, Flavio de Castro Betinho, who is serving a jail sentence in Morrinhos.

In Flavio's absence, Granny Smoke was “taking care of business,” supplying dealers in the area, said police.
