| RIO DE JANEIRO – Blue sky, clear water and warm temperatures lured Cariocas and tourists alike to the beaches of Rio on Holy Thursday. The thermometers reached 30° C (86° F) at Ipanema Beach by early afternoon, beckoning beachgoers into the surf.
According to the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET), the high temperature for the city on Thursday was 33.3° C (91.9° F) in Vila Militar, in the western area of the city.
Also according to INMET, a cold front is expected to hit the city on Good Friday bringing rain showers, wind gusts and thunderstorms.
