SAO PAULO – Security cameras recorded a gang of men blowing up an ATM in the early hours of Saturday, in the interior of Sao Paulo state. Two men were arrested right after the blast which completely destroyed the cash machine, which was located in a gas station.

| GOIANIA, Brazil – A 27-year-old woman was arrested in the capital on Saturday, suspected of helping defraud banks of up to R$1 million (about $537,000 USD). According the the Military Police (PM), she is suspected of belonging to a gang that put up “chupa-cabra” devices at bank ATMs.

| BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil – Bandits blasted open an ATM early Saturday morning in the town of Conselheiro Lafaiete, destroying the machine but getting no cash. One shop next door was completely destroyed and others in the shopping mall where the machine was located were badly damaged, according to G1 Minas Gerais.

SALVADOR, Bahia – An action by the Military Police in the city of Camacan, 326 miles from the capital, dismantled a criminal gang, arrested 7, killed one, seized drugs and 150 sticks of dynamite. The gang, with ties to the state of Espirito Santo, was targeted by the 62nd Independent Military Police of Camacan (CIPM) on Tuesday night.
RECIFE, Pernambuco – Thieves blasted open an ATM in the early hours of Saturday in the town of Petrolina, in the interior of the state of Pernambuco. According to police, at least five men participated in the theft and managed to take more than R$100,000 (about U.S. $58,000) from the machine.

| SAO PAULO – An ATM machine was found on a street in Santos, São Paulo late Tuesday night. The equipment was found shortly after 10 pm by a group celebrating a birthday at a nearby club, reports O Globo online.
SAO PAULO – Police on Friday seized 11 sticks of dynamite found in an abandoned Fiat Strada in suburban São Paulo. The agents located the explosives after an anonymous tip. According to the police, the informant said that the dynamite was to be used in an ATM robbery, reported O Dia online.
SÃO PAULO, Brazil – Police have arrested 10 members of a gang thought to be responsible for blasting open at least ten ATM machines around the São Paulo Metro area over the last 60 days. One of the members of the gang also stands accused of receiving a work by famed artist Pablo Picasso which was stolen from a São Paulo art gallery in 2008, reports CBN Radio.
