| VITORIA, Brazil – Early Saturday, police seized more than a ton of marijuana being transported in a truck on the BR-262 highway in Luna, on the south coast. Authorities also arrested four men, two in the act of transporting the drug and two others, in the city of Carioca, who were to receive the shipment.

| SALVADOR, Brazil – In a mega-operation, called 'Velocity-5', held between December 21st and 24th, police in Bahia made the largest marijuana seizure ever in the Northeast. Civil Police (PC) presented the details of the operation at a news conference on Monday afternoon.

| CAMPO GRANDE, Brazil – The Federal Police (PF) seized 13.7 metric tons of marijuana being transported in two trucks, Saturday night, on a highway in Central-West Brazil. The vehicles were stopped at a roadblock while driving along the MS-156 highway near the town of Caarapo, 273 km (170 miles) from Campo Grande, according to G1 MS.

| SAO PAULO – The Federal Police (PF) seized 648 kilos of marijuana and made five arrests early Monday morning in Osasco, Sao Paulo. According to the PF, the drugs were discovered in a cargo truck.

| BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil – Civil Police (PC) in Iturama this morning are searching for 672 kilograms of marijuana which disappeared from the station house Sunday night. Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, the chief of police said that the marijuana was discovered missing on Monday.

| CAMPO GRANDE, Mato Grosso do Sul – An 18-year-old man was arrested Thursday carrying 393 kg (867 lbs) of marijuana in Amambai, 342 km (213 miles) from the capital. Federal Police (PF) made the arrest late last night as part of Operation Sentinel, which fights crime along Brazil's international borders.

| CAMPO GRANDE, Brazil – A man was arrested last Thursday afternoon in Ponta Pora, 324 km (201 miles) from the capital, on the border of Mato Grosso do Sul and Paraguay, after running a police checkpoint in the Paraguayan city of Pedro Juan Caballero.

GOIANIA, Goias – The Military Police (PM) late Thursday night, arrested a young man for being in possession of 100 kilos of marijuana, in the Sector Nova Era area of Aparecida de Goiania. According to the PM, the drugs were hidden in a suitcase and the 27-year-old suspect claimed that it was for his “personal consumption.”

| VITORIA, Brazil – Federal Police (PF) arrested two men with 756 kilos of marijuana in a truck stopped at a gas station in the town of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, 63 miles south of the Espirito Santo state capital, Vitoria, early Friday morning, reported the G1 network.

CURITIBA, Parana – Federal Police (PF) in Iguassu Falls seized 1.7 tons of drugs Tuesday afternoon after pulling over a van containing cargo from Paraguay. The three Paraguayans in the van did not have importation documentation for the boxes in the van, prompting police to intensify the inspection which led to the discovery of the marijuana.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Acting on an anonymous tip, officers of the 31st Battalion Military Police (PM), raided an apartment in the upscale seaside town of Recreio, in the West Zone of Rio, Wednesday night. There, police seized 220 kilos of pot and arrested three young people who were found in the apartment, including the tenant.
CAMPO GRANDE, Mato Grosso do Sul – Federal Police (PF) in this Southern Brazilian state incinerated 4.2 tons of marijuana and other drugs in a power plant furnace this morning. One kilo of cocaine and 18 kilos of hashish were also destroyed at the plant in the municipality of Navirai, 223 miles from the state capital.
SANTO ANASTACIO, Brazil - An operation carried out by the Military Police of Sao Paulo in this small town, 380 miles west of the capitol, in the early afternoon Saturday, resulted in the arrest of Matheus Ricardo Araujo dos Santos, 20, and the seizure of 900 kilos of marijuana, reports terra.com.br.
